3 Principles

Three things that determine whether a stand works.

Before budget, before sqm, before materials. These three principles define whether an exhibition project delivers commercial results or only visual ones.

01

Budget before space.

The space you book must follow your budget — not the other way around. Every square metre costs money in construction, furniture, graphics and logistics. Define the total budget first, then calculate the right space.

02

Visitor flow before aesthetics.

A stand is a temporary operational environment. How visitors enter, move and stop determines whether conversations happen. Design the flow first. Then design around it.

03

Execution reality before concept.

The most beautiful concept means nothing if it can't be installed in venue timelines, approved by technical offices, or produced within budget. Operational reality shapes every decision.

Strategic Planning

Define your budget before signing the space.

The most expensive mistake happens before the project starts. Clients sign the space contract — then ask what it costs to build inside it.

Many clients come to us after booking 200 sqm with a €40,000 budget. The maths doesn't work. The stand looks empty, the details disappear, the result doesn't represent the company. Fewer square metres, built with attention to detail, always outperform a large space stretched over a tight budget.

Visitor Flow

How visitors move determines everything.

Visitor flow is not a design decision — it's an operational one. It defines meeting areas, product display logic, staff positioning and lead conversion.

Most exhibition stand problems visible on the floor were actually created in the design phase. An entrance that's too closed, a meeting area too visible from the aisle, a product display that reads as a barrier — these aren't construction problems. They're planning failures.

Visitor flow analysis is part of every ED EXPO project brief. Before any 3D render, we map how people will actually move through the space.

  • 1
Entry zoneOpen, readable, no physical threshold. Three seconds to decide whether to enter.
  • 2
Circulation pathNatural movement from entry toward product highlights and meeting areas.
  • 3
Engagement pointsDemos, touchpoints or visuals that pause movement and create interaction.
  • 4
Conversation areaSemi-private, away from aisle noise. Where qualified leads become real conversations.
  • 5
Exit logicVisitors leave with materials, a contact exchange, or a next step — not just a memory.
Technical Execution

What happens between brief and installation.

Exhibition stand production involves more operational steps than most clients anticipate. Each one affects the final result.

Technical Drawings

Venue-compliant floor plans, elevations and structural documentation for organiser approval.

Venue Manual Compliance

Every venue has a technical manual. We read it, apply it and manage all required approvals.

Graphic Production

Print-ready files, material specifications and installation documentation for every graphic element.

Production Coordination

Supplier management, production timelines and quality control from brief to delivery.

International Logistics

Transport coordination, customs documentation and delivery scheduling for international exhibitions.

Installation Planning

Crew scheduling, installation sequence documentation and on-site technical direction.

Project Management

Single point of contact across all phases. No information lost between departments.

Late Modification Management

Organiser changes, venue restrictions or client revisions handled without project derailment.

10 Strategic Principles

10 principles that separate planned exhibitions from improvised ones.

Each one comes from a real project. None are theoretical.

Analysis

Aesthetic stand vs. performing exhibition environment.

The difference is not visual — it's operational. One is built to be photographed. The other is built to generate commercial results.

Aesthetic stand

Built to photograph well at the show.

Optimised for visual impact in renders and post-show recaps. The experience of being inside it — and doing business from it — is a secondary consideration.

  • Visitor path undefined — people wander and leave
  • Meeting areas exposed or absent
  • Visual complexity creates distance, not engagement
  • Space utilised for presence, not for function
  • No hierarchy between product areas and meeting zones
Performing Exhibition Environment

Built to generate commercial results.

Every design decision is made in reference to how visitors behave, where conversations happen and how leads are qualified. The visual outcome follows the operational logic.

  • Open entry — legible in three seconds from the aisle
  • Engagement points that pause and create interaction
  • Semi-private meeting zones with controlled sightlines
  • Clear visual hierarchy: brand, product, contact
  • Staff positioned by commercial logic, not by preference

Operational Methodology

From brief to teardown.

Every ED EXPO project follows the same operational sequence. Each phase has defined deliverables and a single point of contact.

01

Strategic Brief

Objectives, venue, budget, timeline. If something is not feasible, we say so at this stage — not after production has started.

02

Technical Design

Venue-compliant drawings, 3D renders, graphic specifications and organiser submission documentation.

03

Production Coordination

Supplier management, production timelines, quality control. One point of contact across all production phases.

04

International Logistics

Transport coordination, customs documentation, delivery scheduling and on-site receiving management.

05

Installation & Supervision

On-site construction management. Stand verified against technical drawings before doors open.

06

Teardown & Debrief

Dismantling coordination and operational debrief. What worked, what needs adjustment, what to carry forward to the next edition.

We don't manage stands from a distance. Every project has a named contact who is present at the venue, available during installation and reachable during the show. That's what operational responsibility means.
